@GT_WTEN Set to Face Ohio State in Round of 16

TULSA, Okla. – The Georgia Tech women’s tennis team (19-8) will compete in the NCAA Tournament Round of 16 on Thursday, when the Jackets will face off against No. 4 Ohio State (30-2). The Jackets lost a match to the Buckeyes earlier in the season by a score of 6-1 in Columbus. The match will begin at 8 p.m. ET at the Case Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Tulsa.

The Jackets are coming off of an impressive victory over No. 13 South Carolina, defeating the Gamecocks by a score of 4-0 on their home courts. Tech also defeated No. 39 Princeton the first round of the Columbia Regional by a score of 4-1. No. 34 Johnnise Renaud was especially impressive – going undefeated in both singles and doubles action over the weekend.

“We’re looking forward to playing in the Sweet 16 on Thursday,” head coach Rodney Harmon said. “Ohio State has a great team, so we know it will be a battle.”
