@GT_WTEN Finished Day One at Mal Moore Invite

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The #18 Georgia Tech women’s tennis team recorded two doubles wins and one singles victories during the first day of the Mal Moore Invitational at the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility on the campus of Alabama.

The Yellow Jackets split the doubles matches, winning two and losing two. Freshman Paige Hourigan and sophomore Rasheeda McAdoo recorded a win. Junior Natasha Prokhnevska and freshman Johnnise Renaud also won on the first day of competition. 

The #28 ranked pair of sophomore Alexa Anton-Ohlmeyer and freshman Alexis Prokopuik fell in their match while juniors Kendal Woodard and Megan Kurey retired during their match due to an injury.

The lone Yellow Jacket to win a singles match was Prokopuik who did so in two-sets. Renaud and Hourigan both lost in three set matches, while Prokhnevska, McAdoo, Woodard and Anton-Ohlmeyer all suffered two-set losses.  

Action begins with doubles tomorrow at 10 a.m. CT.
