@GT_WTEN Captures Three Doubles Victories on Day 2

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The #18 Georgia Tech women’s tennis team won three doubles and three single matches on the second day of the Mal Moore Invitational at the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility on the campus of Alabama.

Three Yellow Jacket double pairings were successful on the second day of competition. Junior Natasha Prokhnevska and freshman Johnnise Renaud stayed undefeated in doubles during the tournament winning their second matches of the weekend. Freshman Paige Hourigan and sophomore Rasheeda McAdoo fell in their doubles match. 

Junior Kendal Woodard and freshman Alexis Prokopuik won their first doubles match playing as a pair.

During the singles session, Hourigan cruised to victory in set one and battled it out in set two to win her first match of the tournament. McAdoo and Prokopuik each just played one set against their opponents and both Jackets were victorious. Renaud suffered a tight three set loss while Woodard and sophomore Alexa Anton-Ohlmeyer both lost in two sets in singles. Prokhnevska and her opponent did not play.

Match play resumes tomorrow with doubles kicking off at 9:00 a.m. CT on the last day of the Mal Moore Invitational.
