Meet Info

THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech track & field squad will compete its second and final home meet of the season when it hosts the Georgia Tech Invite, taking place Friday and Saturday at the George C. Griffin Track & Field Facility.

“We’re looking forward to this weekend’s Georgia Tech Invitational,” head men’s coach Grover Hinsdale said. “This has been a very competitive meet over the years, and I believe that it will be another great one. Our guys are anxious and ready to go, and we hope to have a great crowd.”

The Jackets will be looking for stellar performances, especially from the likes of freshmen Bria Matthews and Avery Bartlett. Matthews was a gold medalist at the ACC Indoor Championships in both the long jump and triple jump, and also earned All-America honors in both events. Bartlett won the 1500m men’s event at Tech’s last home meet, the Yellow Jack Invite.

“We’re excited about hosting the invitational this weekend,” head women’s coach Alan Drosky said. “We have an outstanding competition venue, the competition will be very good, and the women are ready for some great performances. We haven’t been hitting on all cylinders yet this outdoor season, so it’s time for us to really pull it together and compete well from the first event through the last.”

Fans attending the meet are encouraged to park at the State Street garage and are discouraged from driving through campus on Saturday. Fans should enter campus via 10th Street to attend the event.
