Getting To Know: Breana McDonald

Once a week, will introduce you to one of Georgia Tech’s seven women’s basketball freshmen as we get ready to tip-off the 2012-13 season Nov. 11 against Tennessee at McCamish Pavilion.

Breana McDonald is a 6-0 guard/forward from Chamblee High School in Decatur, Ga. McDonald captained the Chamblee basketball team for two seasons and was a four-year letterwinner. She finished her prep career with 1,498 points, 920 rebounds and 315 steals in four seasons. Furthermore, McDonald was named to the 6AAAA All-Region team and to the All-Dekalb county first team by the AJC. McDonald also played in the Georgia North/South All-Star Game in both 2011 and 2012.

McDonald has two siblings, Morgan and Nathalie. McDonald chose Georgia Tech because of its good academics, Coach Joseph, and the beautiful campus. McDonald’s mother, Brenda McDonald, ran four years of track at Auburn and considers her mother to be her greatest influence. She plans to pursue a science, technology and culture major.
