Georgia Tech's Liz Bartle Tabbed ACC Softball Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – After batting .636 with a homer and five RBI in a 5-1 week for the Jackets, Georgia Tech sophomore Liz Bartle was named Atlantic Coast Conference Softball Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Bartle was 7-for-11 at the plate, as Tech (12-7) swept Troy State and went 3-1 at the Georgia State Invitational. The native of Coral Springs, Fla., was at her best in the tournament, where she batted .778 (7-for-9) with a home run, three doubles and 4 runs batted in. On the week, she scored four runs and totaled 5 RBI.

For the season, Bartle leads Tech with a .333 average (12-for-36) and is tied for third on the team with seven RBI.

The Jackets return to action Thursday for a single game at St. Mary’s (Calif.) at 6 p.m. Eastern. Tech opens play in the National Softball Invitational Tournament Friday against No. 23 Oregon.
