Georgia Tech's David Duncan Tabbed ACC Pitcher of the Week

March 19, 2007

ATLANTA – After helping the Yellow Jackets to their first shutout of the year while tossing Tech’s first complete-game shutout in three years, Georgia Tech sophomore David Duncan has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the ACC Monday afternoon.

The New Richmond, Ohio native struck out a career-high 10 batters in a career-long outing in the series opener against Boston College this past weekend, leading the Yellow Jackets to a 10-0 victory over the Eagles.

He retired the first 12 batters he faced before surrendering his first hit to the leadoff batter in the fourth inning. Duncan scattered just four hits over the nine innings while walking only two Eagle batters, improving to 4-2 on the season. With the win, he has earned a win in four of his last five appearances.

The Yellow Jackets will step out of conference for a matchup against cross-town rival Georgia State in Panthersville Wednesday at 6 p.m. before hitting the road for a three-game series at Duke this weekend.
