Georgia Tech's Anne Knobbe Named ACC Softball Player of the Week

ATLANTA (Mar. 7) – Georgia Tech’s Anne Knobbe has been named the ACC Softball Player of the Week after turning in a strong performance in the Yellow Jacket’s three wins this past week.

Knobbe, a senior catcher from Brea, Calif., turned in an impressive week at the plate for the Yellow Jackets as she finished with a .615 batting average in four games. She began her hot hitting streak in the second game of the Jackets’ doubleheader with Georgia as she finished 2-4 and drove in the game-tying run in Tech’s 6-5 win. On Saturday, Knobbe went a perfect 6-6 at the plate in Georgia Tech’s two wins over Radford. In those two contests, she scored six runs and record seven RBI and four doubles. She finished the week with a slugging percentage of 1.230 with 16 bases in 13 at bats.
