Georgia Tech Will Play Spring Football Game On A Friday Night

Jan. 31, 2012

ATLANTA – Friday Night on the Flats is coming to Bobby Dodd Stadium in April.

Georgia Tech will play its annual spring football game, combined with other fan-friendly events, on the night of Friday, April 20th, at Bobby Dodd Stadium. After playing the spring game on Saturday afternoon for several years, the Friday night event will be a break in tradition.

“We anticipate this being a great event for our fans,” associate athletic director Wayne Hogan said. “With activities being planned for both pre- and post-game, this will be a mini-festival that should be a lot of fun for our fans, alumni and students.

“The feedback from our players is that they will be excited to play a game under the lights at Bobby Dodd Stadium.”

Pre-game activities on Callaway Plaza will begin at 7 p.m. The specific time for kick-off will be determined later, but it is expected to be at 7:30 or 7:45 p.m. Typically, the spring game lasts around two hours.

There will be post-game activities in Bobby Dodd Stadium as well, including a fireworks show.
