Georgia Tech Volleyball Crushes Belmont

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (Sept. 18) — Hitting a season-high .358 in the match, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (9-3) crushed Belmont University (4-8) in three games, 15-2, 15-5, 15-3 on Saturday afternoon in the Crimson Tide Classic.

Georgia Tech was led by Amanda Medrow (Milwaukee, Wisc.) who tallied a career high 14 kills on 23 attempts (.522) and Laura Grubka (Battle Creek, Mich.) who collected a career high 11 kills on 14 attempts (.714). Courtney Adler (Longmont, Colo.) paced the Jacket offense as she compiled a season-high 42 assists. Teryl Townsend also turned in a strong performance as she had nine kills in the match for a .438 hitting percentage, a career-high four service aces, and a team-high 10 digs. Belmont struggled in the match hitting only .022 as a team.

Georgia Tech will face host University of Alabama (6-4) in the final match of the Crimson Tide Classic tonight.
