STATEN ISLAND, NY — Georgia Tech used a well-balanced offensive attack and a dominating rebounding performance to rout Wagner, 73-50, Tuesday night.
The Yellow Jackets never trailed as three players scored in double figures, led by sophomore Niesha Butler’s 17 points. Senior Jaime Kruppa added 15 points and eight rebounds and sophomore Sonja Mallory tallied 12 points and eight rebounds.
Georgia Tech posted a season-high 51 rebounds, led by junior Milli Martinez, who grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds. The Yellow Jackets held Wagner to just 18 rebounds, the fewest by a Tech opponent this year. The Seahawks’ 50 points were also the fewest against Tech this season.
Deandra Teague led Wagner with 12 points and was three-for-three from three-point range.
Georgia Tech (5-3) remains in New York for a game at Hofstra (3-5) on Thursday.
