GREENSBORO, N.C. – Georgia Tech is the eighth seed for the 2014 ACC Softball Tournament and will face top-seeded and No. 4 Florida State Thursday, May 8 at 11 a.m.
This year’s championship will be held in College Park, Md., with the University of Maryland serving as the host for the three-day event which concludes on Saturday, May 10 with the championship game.
The winner of the Georgia Tech and Florida State game will face the winner of the NC State and North Carolina contest on Friday at 1 p.m. Tech (23-23, 11-17 ACC) and Florida State (47-6, 24-3 ACC) met in both teams’ final series of the regular season, with the Seminoles taking the series 3-0 in Tallahassee.
Fans unable to attend the tournament can watch the action as all seven games will be televised. Thursday’s and Friday’s games will be split between the league’s regional sports network and ESPN3, and the championship game on Saturday will be on ESPN2.
