THE FLATS — In week three of the NFL season, Morgan Burnett‘s Green Bay Packers came from behind to defeat Michael Johnson‘s Cincinnati Bengals 27-24 in overtime, while both Demaryius Thomas and Adam Gotsis both got starts in the Denver Broncos road loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Burnett posted five total tackles for the second straight week for Green Bay, while Johnson returned from sititng out week two with an injury to record three solo tackles and a sack in the Bengals’ loss.
Shaq Mason helped guide the New England Patriots’ offense to 36 points and a win over the Houston Texans, while on the other side of the ball Derrick Morgan totaled two tackles in the Tennessee Titans’ win over the Seattle Seahawks.
For the second straight week, Thomas hauled in six catches, this week totaling 98 yards and an average of 16.3 yards per catch.
On Wednesday, Sept. 20, the Arizona Cardinals resigned Philip Wheeler, while the Pittsburgh Steelers released Justin Thomas off the practice squad.
