THE FLATS — With three weeks left in the MLB regular season, only one #ProJacket in Charlie Blackmon continues to lift the Colorado Rockies in their bid for a playoff spot, while the other Georgia Tech baseball major league #ProJackets are looking to help close their season’s out on a high note.
Blackmon, whose Rockies team has opened a 1.5-game lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers and a two-game lead over Arizona, has hit .344 with four stolen bases and four runs scored as they enter a weekend series with the NL East-leading Atlanta Braves.
Fellow #ProJacket Derek Dietrich, now an everyday starter for the Miami Marlins, has established career highs in base hits (123), runs scored (69), total bases (198), doubles (23) and home runs (16), while nearing career bests in games played (132). Rookie Daniel Palka has become just the fourth #ProJacket to hit 20 home runs in the first full MLB season (21), joining Mark Teixeira, Nomar Garciaparra and Jason Varitek, and has demonstrated a flair for the dramatic, belting six ninth-inning home runs to lead the major leagues.
On the mound, Buck Farmer has enjoyed his full season in the big leagues with 55 strikeouts over 61.1 innings of work out of the bullpen for the Detroit Tigers.
Below is a complete list of Tech #ProJackets playing professionally this season.
