Shanghai, China – The Georgia Tech men’s basketball team is getting the experience of a lifetime this week as the Yellow Jackets visit China and open their 2017-18 season against UCLA in the 2017 Pac-12 China Game presented by the Alibaba Group.
The 2017 Pac-12 China Game between UCLA and Georgia Tech will tip off the 2017-18 basketball season and be broadcast live on ESPN at 11:30 p.m. Friday night, Nov. 10. The game is part of Pac-12 Global, an unprecedented effort to promote goodwill for the Conference and its member institutions through sport, and to provide student-athletes with a transformative cultural exchange experience.
Georgia Tech’s third full day in China was relatively light with study hall in the morning, followed by a one-hour transition to Shanghai on high-speed rail. The Jackets settled into their new hotel by the Bund District, ate dinner and had a film session in the evening.

November 7 After two full days of practice andthe ride to Shanghai, the Yellow Jackets took part in a detailedfilm review of their exhibition game against Faulkner.Thursday’s schedule is a busy one, with another fullpractice in the morning followed by a visit by both Tech and UCLAto Shanghai Disney for the afternoon.
One of the highlights of this week has been the bus rides themselves. Tour guides Tony in Hangzhou, and now John the “Snowman” in Shanghai, have kept the rides lively with jokes, entertainment, and sharing of Chinese stories and legends.
