THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech softball team (22-27, 7-8 ACC) plays host to No. 22 Florida State (37-15, 16-2) in its final regular season home series, beginning with a Saturday doubleheader at 1 p.m. The series finale is set for Sunday at 1 p.m. and all three games will air on ESPN3.

Prior to the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader, Tech will honor its two seniors – Kelly Delashmit and Hope Rush. The senior class has accumulated two ACC regular season championships, two ACC Tournament Championships and three straight appearances in the NCAA Tournament. It currently boasts a 155-73 record.

The Yellow Jackets and Seminoles have met 72 times in the past with 21 games under the wing of Sharon Perkins. Florida State holes a 46-26 advantage in the series, but Tech is 14-7 against the Seminoles with Perkins at the helm.

Georgia Tech is led by two Jackets batting .400 or above in Ashley Thomas (.433) and Alysha Rudnik (.400).  Thomas leads the team with 51 runs on 68 hits and 33 stolen bases, while Rudnik leads the squad with 14 doubles.

Florida State clinched the ACC regular season title after sweeping Virginia Tech last weekend and locked in a No. 1 seed for the ACC Championship. The tournament is May 9-11 and will be hosted in Tallahassee, Fla. at JoAnne Graf Field.

The Seminoles are led by Morgan Bullock’s .370 batting average. Courtney Senas’ 51 runs, 51 RBI and 13 home runs pace Florida State. Lacey Waldrop holds it down in the circle with a 1.65 ERA and a 19-7 record. In 165 innings pitched, Waldrop has allowed 39 earned runs, 45 walks and fanned 195 batters.
