Georgia Tech-Georgia State Softball Games Cancelled

April 19, 2006

ATLANTA – The Georgia Tech versus Georgia State softball game was cancelled on Wednesday afternoon due to lightning in the Atlanta area. The games will not be rescheduled.

With runners on first and second with no outs in the bottom of the second inning, the game was placed in a weather delay for lightning in the area. The game was then called after 30 minutes due to lightning remaining in the area.

UNC (42-12, 11-4 ACC) holds a one-game lead over GT and NC State (10-5). Tech is 9-3 against the Tar Heels since the 2002 season and holds a one-game advantage in the overall series, 19-18.
