THE FLATS – A wide array of events are on tap for Georgia Tech fans arriving in Jacksonville in advance of the Yellow Jackets’ TaxSlayer Bowl matchup versus Kentucky next week.
Festivities set for Friday, Dec. 30 include:
3:30 p.m. — Georgia Tech Pep Rally
Jacksonville Landing
Free of charge
Georgia Tech marching band and cheerleaders will be on hand to get Yellow Jacket fans pumped up for Tech’s duel with the Wildcats.
4:30-7 p.m. — Official Georgia Tech Alumni and Fan Meet-Up
River City Brewing Company

No cover charge; pay-as-you-go buffet and cash bar
Following the Georgia Tech pep rally at the Landing, fans can take the River Taxi across the river or walk across the bridge (half-mile — 10-15 minutes) to celebrate the Yellow Jackets with fellow alumni, friends and family.
7-9 p.m. — Jacksonville Light Boat Parade and Fireworks
River City Brewing has the best views of this annual Jacksonville tradition, so Georgia Tech fans are encouraged to stick around after the meet-up to witness one of the biggest and most unique holiday celebrations in the nation.
The TaxSlayer Bowl between Georgia Tech (8-4, winner of five of its last six games) and Kentucky (7-5, winner of seven of its last 10 games) kicks off at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN.
Georgia Tech tickets and travel packages for the TaxSlayer Bowl remain on sale, although Tech’s allotment of club seats are sold out.
