“I thought Georgia played a great game,” head coach Shelly Hoerner said. “They hit very well and executed when they needed to. We have to clear our minds and have a short-term memory. We’ve got a big weekend ahead of us with Pitt, so that’s what we’re focusing on right now.”
How It Happened
In the first frame, Georgia hit a three-run home run to go up 3-0. The Bulldogs hit two doubles to add an additional run in the second to go up 4-0. Georgia went up 6-0 thanks to a two-out solo shot to left and an RBI double in the third.
The Jackets sat the Bulldogs down in succession in the fourth inning, but a nine-run fifth frame sealed the deal for Georgia, 15-0.
Jenna Goodrich (6-12) pitched 4.2 innings and Colleen Darragh pitched a third of an inning in relief with one strikeout.
Georgia’s Chelsea Wilkinson (20-2) earned the win, and Kylie Bass threw an inning in relief.
