LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Georgia Tech softball team (16-22) fell at Kansas (23-13), 10-0 in five innings, on Saturday evening at Arrocha Ballpark at Rock Chalk Park.
How It Happened
After two scoreless innings, Kansas got on the board in the third. Chaley Brickey hit a leadoff double, moved to third on a ground out and scored on another groundout to give the Jayhawks a 1-0 lead.
Two singles followed by a three-run home run in the fourth inning put the Jayhawks in front 4-0. In the same inning, Kansas added six runs to take the 10-0 lead.
The Yellow Jackets tallied four hits. Kelsey Chisholm, Colleen Darragh, Draven Sonnon and Kaylee Ellebracht each tallied hits for Tech, but the Jackets couldn’t bring the base runners around.
Jenna Goodrich (6-9) suffered the loss, pitching 3.1 innings with eight runs on seven hits. Morgan Taylor entered the game in the fourth inning and pitched two-thirds of an inning in relief.
Andie Formby (13-5) earned the win throwing a complete game and scattering four hits.
