ATLANTA (Nov. 28) — Tickets for this year’s Toyota Gator Bowl will go on sale at Georgia Tech’s Ticket Office on Monday morning beginning at 9 a.m. Fans interested in joining the Yellow Jackets for their third straight bowl trip are encouraged to order their tickets as soon as possible by calling 1-888-TECH-TIX.
Tech, which accepted the Gator Bowl invitation after Saturday’s dramatic 51-48 overtime victory over arch-rival Georgia, is expected to play one of two Big East schools in either Boston College or Miami.
Tech, which finished its season 8-3, is ranked 16th in the current USA Today/Coaches Top 25. Boston College, also 8-3, is ranked 22nd, while Miami, 7-4 with a game against Temple this Saturday, is ranked 24th.
A decision on the bowl opponent for Tech is expected either Monday or Tuesday.
The Toyota Gator Bowl is played in Jacksonville’s Alltel Stadium on New Years Day and has a 12:30 p.m. kickoff and is nationally-televised by NBC Sports.
Tech’s invitation to this year’s Gator Bowl game marks the Yellow Jackets second straight appearance in the Jacksonville contest. Tech defeated Notre Dame, 35-28, this past Jan. 1 in the Gator Bowl.
