MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Georgia Tech freshmen Caio Pumputis and Christian Ferraro both competed in the 200 IM on Thursday at the 2018 NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships in Minneapolis, Minn.
Making their NCAA debuts, the two first-year Jackets both started their week at the championships off in the 200 IM prelims on Thursday morning.
Pumputis touched the wall in a time of 1:45.54, just eight tenths off of his career-best time in the event on the season, to finish 36th overall, while Ferraro recorded a time of 1:48.24 to place in 45th-place.
The duo will be joined by Moises Loschi in the water tomorrow, as Loschi and Pumputis will both compete in the 100 breast event, while Ferraro will return to the pool to swim in the 100 fly.
The prelims will start once again at 10 a.m. and the finals will begin at 6 p.m.
