THE FLATS – Student-athletes will thank more than 6,500 donors for their support as part of Georgia Tech athletics’ fourth-annual Donor Appreciation Week, which began on Sunday.
Donor Appreciation Week features student-athletes representing each of Georgia Tech’s 17 varsity sports personally reaching out to show their gratitude to supporters. A “Thank-A-Thon” will include student-athletes placing phone calls from 5:30-8 p.m. ET, Tuesday-Thursday.
In addition to working the phone banks, student-athletes will pen hand-written notes to be delivered to donors and also be on hand to greet and thank visitors in person at Friday’s men’s basketball game versus Ohio (8 p.m. — McCamish Pavilion) and Saturday’s football game versus Virginia (12:30 p.m. — Bobby Dodd Stadium).
Organized by the Student-Athlete Advisory Board and Alexander-Tharp Fund, Donor Appreciation Week has grown from contacting 2,000 supporters in 2013 to reaching out to more than 6,500 donors this year.
You can support Georgia Tech student-athletes by making a gift online or by calling the Alexander-Tharpe Fund at (404) 894-5414. Since 1949, the Alexander-Tharpe Fund (A-T) has served as the primary fund-raising arm for the Georgia Tech Athletic Association, bringing in gifts and commitments in excess of $22 million annually for endowment, facilities and current operations.
