GREENSBORO, N.C. (January 15) — Georgia Tech’s Shaun Fein was tabbed as the ACC Player of the Week while teammate Halston Lane was selected as the ACC Rookie of the Week in voting by a select panel of the Atlantic Coast Conference Sportswriters Association (ACSWA).

Fein played a key role in Tech’s back-to-back upsets of Top 10 teams as the Yellow Jackets knocked off 10th-ranked Virginia, 73-68, on the road and No. 6 Wake Forest, 95-89 in overtime, at home. Fein averaged 20.5 points and 5.0 rebounds in the two contests while shooting 52 percent (14-27) from the field, including 7-for 14 on three-pointers.
At Virginia, Fein poured in a game-high 25 points and grabbed five rebounds. He connected on 10 of 18 shots from the field, including 5-of-9 treys. Fein added 16 points in the win over Wake Forest. With Tech trailing by one in the final minute, he completed a three-point play to put the Jackets ahead, 80-78, with 43 seconds left. He then hit four free throws in overtime.
Lane averaged 15.5 points while shooting 73 percent from the field in Georgia Tech’s back-to-back upsets of Top 10 teams. Lane ignited Tech against the Demon Deacons with a game-high 21 points, including 17 in the second half. After Wake had taken a 46-44 lead with 14 minutes to play, Lane hit three treys in less than three minutes to put the Jackets back ahead, 55-48. For the game, he hit 7-of-10 shots from the field, including 4-5 three-pointers.

Lane had 10 points in 16 minutes in Tech’s win at Virginia, htting four of five shots from the field, including 2-for-3 on three-pointers. His second trey, with 3:10 to play, gave the Yellow Jackets a 66-65 lead that it would not relinquish.
