FAU Tops @GaTechSoftball 2-0

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Georgia Tech softball team (0-4) fell 2-0 to the FAU Owls (2-1) Saturday night at the FAU Tournament at FAU Stadium. The Jackets wrap up the tournament Sunday against Arkansas. Game time was scheduled at 11:15 a.m., but was pushed back to approximately 12:30 p.m. due to a continuation of the Penn State-FAU game halted by rain Friday night.

The Jackets out-hit the Owls 4-3, with four different Jackets recording the hits, and left five runners on base.

With the bases loaded and two outs in the top of the second, the Owls scored off a Georgia Tech infield error to take a 1-0 lead.  The Owls tacked on an additional run in the top of the fourth.  

The Jackets had arguably their best opportunity to plate runners in the bottom of the third. Samantha Pierannunzi and Chelsie Thomas put together back-to-back hits to left. Katie Johnsky drew a walk to load the bases with two outs, but the Jackets grounded out.
