Perfect Game Midseason College Honors | D1Baseball Midseason Report
THE FLATS – Georgia Tech redshirt sophomore Tristin English was named to the midseason Perfect Game/Rawlings college baseball all-America first team on Wednesday, April 4, and then earned a spot on D1Baseball’s midseason all-America team on Thursday, April 5.
English was named to both midseason all-America teams as a utility player, having played in both the field and pitched on the mound this season.
At the plate this season, English leads the team with 39 RBIs. He is hitting .342 (40-for-117) with five home runs, a triple, eight doubles and 23 runs scored. He has posted a .556 slugging percentage and a .379 on base percentage, while also being perfect in the field at first base with a 1.000 fielding percentage.
On the mound, English is 1-0 this season with one save. He has appeared in eight games, starting three, and has struck out 20 batters over 21.0 innings of work. He has recorded a 3.43 ERA, allowing just eight runs on 23 hits and two walks this season.
The Yellow Jacket was one of just three ACC players on the first and second teams joining Brett Kinneman (first team) and Brian Brown (second team) of NC State.
