MEN’S BASKETBALL

Mfon Udofia (pronounced MOO-fonn yu-DOE-fee-uh), a 6-3 point guard from Stone Mountain, Ga., became Georgia Tech’s fourth men’s basketball signee when he signed a letter-of-intent with the Yellow Jackets, head coach Paul Hewitt announced Wednesday. With Udofia’s signing, Tech has recruited a player to fill four of the five positions on the floor. Udofia joins Kammeon Holsey, a 6-8 strong forward from Hancock Central High School in Sparta, Ga.; Brian Oliver, a 6-6 swingman from William Penn High School in New Castle, Del.; and Glen Rice, Jr., a 6-4 guard from Walton High School in Marietta, Ga.

BASEBALL

Two prep All-Americans highlight a list of seven high school standouts that have signed National Letters of Intent to play baseball at Georgia Tech beginning next fall, head coach Danny Hall announced this week.

Four student-athletes, including a 2008 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-American, have committed to play volleyball at Georgia Tech next year, head coach Bond Shymansky announced Wednesday.

GOLF

Georgia Tech has signed the top-ranked player in Georgia and the No. 2-ranked player in North Carolina, Seth Reeves of Duluth, Ga., and Bo Andrews of Raleigh, N.C. to national letters-of-intent, head coach Bruce Heppler announced Wednesday.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Three high school women’s basketball standouts have signed letters of intent to play at Georgia Tech beginning in the 2009-10 season, head coach MaChelle Joseph announced Thursday morning.

Two of the top players in the state, Caitlin Jordan and Hope Rush, have signed national letters of intent during the early signing period head coach Sharon Perkins announced on Thursday.

SWIMMING & DIVING

Georgia Tech Swimming and Diving Coach Stu Wilson has announced that swimmers Eric Chiu (Martinez, Ga. / Lakeside), Michael Hart (Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota West), Colin Schouten (Lititz,Pa. / Warwick), Morgan Trickett (Greenville, S.C./JL Mann), Alexis Weber (Atlanta, Ga. / West Forsyth) and Mary Wunderle (Mason, Ohio / William Mason) have signed national letters of intent. In addition, divers Chris Khosravi (Missouri City, Texas / Elkins) and Brandon Makinson (Calgary, Alberta / National Sport School) signed national letters of intent during the early signing period as well.
