JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The second day of competition Friday at the 2015 NCAA East Preliminaries is in the books for the Georgia Tech track and field team at Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla. The top 12 finishers in each event qualify for the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Championships set for June 10-13 in Eugene, Ore.
Senior Brandon Lasater ran in the quarterfinals of the 800 meters and missed qualifying for the NCAA Championships by less than three-tenths of a second. Lasater crossed the line in 14th place with a time of 1:47.99, and the 12th and final qualifier for the national meet logged a time of 1:47.733.
Spencer Allen matched his career-best time of 14.14 in the 110-meter hurdles and placed 30th. Nathan Daniel competed in the pole vault and tied for 27th with a height of 5.00m (16-4.75).
Bailey Weiland is scheduled to compete in the women’s high jump on Saturday at 6 p.m. to wrap up the East Preliminaries.
