Day two in the Bahamas has come to a close. It was just another wonderful day in paradise for Georgia Tech. We opened the day with a breakfast buffet and then traveled around 10 minutes to the Kendal Isaac’s Gymnasium for practice to prepare for our first game against Winthrop.
Prior to our practice, the team had to stretch on the steps of the gym as we waited for Memphis to finish up on the court. The well-armed security guards preferred us to stretch outside than in the lobby. Finally we took the floor and the team was ready to go. After a very good two-hour practice, the team was ready to enjoy the day by the pool.
At four, the team gathered and got on a Bahamas bus that would take us all downtown to the main shopping district in Nassau. The bus was packed, including people sitting in special seats that pulled down the middle walkway. We got dropped off on the main drag of downtown and it was filled with jewelry shops, perfume shops and clothing stores. A large port for cruise ships, the downtown strip was filled with signs preaching some great deals.
After the team returned, we gathered one last time for a team buffet dinner. If I haven’t told you, the hotel is all-inclusive, so even when you eat enough, you can go back and get more.
Tomorrow night is our first game so check back and see how we do!
