Costa Dubbed ACC Men’s Track Performer of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Georgia Tech track and field freshman Sam Costa was named the ACC Men’s Track Performer of the Week following his collegiate debut at the Orange and Purple Classic on Saturday.

Costa, a native of Buford, Ga., placed first in the 5000-meter run on Saturday with a time of 15:13.22. He currently ranks 34th nationally in the event. His was one of two first-place finishes for the Yellow Jackets at the meet. The Jackets posted six top-three finishes on the day.

Costa and the Yellow Jackets are back in action this weekend, Jan. 13-14 in Nashville, Tenn. for the Commodore Invitational hosted by Vanderbilt.
