The Georgia Tech men’s tennis team concluded play in the South Carolina Fall Invitational Sunday, October 22 in Columbia, S.C.
Tech senior Romain Coirault advanced to the semifinals of the Flight A1 singles, defeating Brian Rosenthal of NC State, 6-0, 6-3, in the quarterfinals. After winning the first set against William & Mary’s Trevor Spraklin, 6-2, in the semifinals, Coirault fell 6-7, 3-6 in the final two sets to lose the match.
Freshman Amit Taggar advanced to the quarterfinals with a 1-6, 6-2, 6-2 win over Jagjeet Sandhu of NC State, but fell to Andrew Vu, (5-7, 2-6) in the semifinals.
Freshman Joao Menano’s run also ended in the quarterfinals of the tournament. South Carolina’s Seth Rose defeated Menanon, 6-2, 6-2, to advance to the semifinals.
In doubles play, Travis Iams and Alex Novikinov were upended by Jody Strik and Joe Brooks of William & Mary, 8-6 in the quarterfinals.
The Yellow Jackets conclude their fall season Nov. 1-5 at the ITA Region Championships in Chapel Hill, N.C.
