Claybrooks, Dyke, Muyres Named To ACC All-Academic Team

ATLANTA (Feb. 14) – Georgia Tech football players Felipe Claybrooks, Dan Dyke and Jeremy Muyres have been named to the 2000 Atlantic Coast Conference All-Academic football team as announced by Commissioner John Swofford. To be eligible, a player must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the fall semester or have maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.

Claybrooks and Dyke earned the honor for the second time, while Muyres is a first-time selection.

Claybrooks, a senior defensive end from Decatur, Ga., collected five sacks, 11 tackles for loss and 13 quarterback pressures to earn honorable mention all-conference honors. He finished his career in fourth place in Tech history with 20 career sacks. Claybrooks will earn his degree in Management in May.

Dyke, a sophomore punter from Winter Springs, Fla., is a two-time Academic All-America with a 4.0 grade point average in Electrical Engineering. He averaged 41.8 yards per punt in 2000.

Muyres, a sophomore free safety from Stone Mountain, Ga., was a second-team all-ACC selection last fall. The Management major led Tech with four interceptions and 12 pass breakups, along with 43 tackles and three tackles for loss.
