Eric Ciano has been named Georgia Tech’s Director of Player Development and will oversee Tech’s strength and conditioning program for all sports while working primarily with the football team, while Damon Harrington has joined the Tech staff as Assistant Director of Player Development, working with football.
Ciano comes to Tech from the University of Tennessee, where he had served as associate head strength and conditioning coach since 2002. He previously spent two years (2000-02) as the head strength and conditioning coach at Louisiana Tech University, following two years (1997-99) as a graduate assistant at Tennessee.
Ciano earned his bachelor’s degree in 1997 from Springfield College in Springfield, Mass., where he lettered in football. He added a master’s degree from Tennessee in 1999.
A certified collegiate strength and conditioning coach, Ciano is a member of the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Harrington joins the Tech staff from Louisiana Tech, where he succeeded Ciano as head strength and conditioning coach in 2002. Harrington had worked under Ciano as an assistant at the Ruston, La., school. He earned his bachelor’s degree (2000) and master’s degree (2002) from Louisiana Tech.
Harrington is a certified collegiate strength and conditioning coach and a member of the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
