A runaway week four will give Buzz’ a 4-0 record after some last minute Monday morning voting. As of 10:30 p.m. on Sunday night the Georgia Tech mascot holds over 100,000 vote lead over Brutus of Ohio State and currently has the most votes of any mascot in week four.
The Georgia Tech mascot netted over 147,000 votes to put him over the 600,000 vote total in the first month of the competition.
Coming off of the win, Buzz will take on his first and only ACC competition of the year, in a preview of next week’s football game, when he meets up with Testudo the Terrapin of Maryland.
Testudo has not seen the same success that Buzz has during this competition and is coming off of a devastating loss to Sparty of Michigan State in week four. In fact, Testudo has not garnered a win during the competition. Week one saw a loss to Brutus, week two Testudo fell to Aubie and week three saw a loss to the defending champion Big Blue.
During the first four weeks of the competition, the Terrapin has only garnered 115,000 votes, Buzz is much more deserving of this week’s victory.
Now the reasons to vote for Buzz!
• This match up will serve as a preview for the faceoff on the gridiron between the two teams on October 8 in Atlanta — a win for Buzz will set the tone.
• 0-4 vs. 4-0 – this should be a no brainer.
• In the CapitalOne Bowl, slow and steady doesn’t always win the race.
