Former Georgia Tech standout Keith Brooking, now an All-Pro for the Atlanta Falcons, will host Brooking’s Backyard Reunion, an action packed, family event on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Georgia Tech football practice fields. The fundraising event will benefit the ongoing work of The Keith Brooking Children’s Foundation, the Atlanta Community Food Bank and the Atlanta Falcons’ Youth Foundation.
Brooking’s Backyard Reunion will include fun for the whole family. Professional athletes and other celebrity guests will be on hand to sign autographs and take pictures with fans, a silent auction will include sports memorabilia, vacation packages and a variety of gift items for men, women and children. There will be interactive games for children of all ages, a delicious meal, carnival treats, goodie bags, door prizes and much more!
“I am very excited about this family event,” said Brooking, an all-ACC linebacker for the Yellow Jackets from 1994-97. “To add to the excitement, holding the event at Georgia Tech will be like going back home! I am grateful for the support the metro Atlanta community has given to my foundation over the past two years. There will be plenty of fun at this event for sports fans and supporters of my foundation.”
The focus of the Keith Brooking Children’s Foundation is foster children and the organizations that serve them. The foundation has awarded over $100,000 in grant monies since February, 2004 and offers a variety of supportive programs for all children.
“Keith is “hands on” in all aspects of the work of the foundation. He is passionate about the work of his foundation and is sincere in his desire to make a positive difference in the lives of children.” said Gina Weathersby, foundation Executive Director.
