THE FLATS – For the second consecutive year, Georgia Tech Baseball’s Brandon Thomas has been named a first-team Capital One Academic All-District selection.
Thomas has started 35 games in center field for the Yellow Jackets and is hitting .376 to lead the team and rank fourth in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Atlanta native also leads the club with 13 doubles, has homered and has driven in 22 runs.
Thomas owns a 3.50 cumulative GPA in business administration. He is a three-time All-ACC Academic pick, was presented Tech’s Faculty Honors in the fall of 2009 and has made the Dean’s List in six different semesters. Last season, Thomas was a second-team Capital One Academic All-America and a first-team Academic All-District honoree.
First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
