Biggers, Tweedy Named Associate ADs

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech athletics senior staff members Selinda Biggers and John D. Tweedy have both been promoted to associate athletics directors, director of athletics Todd Stansbury announced on Monday. Biggers will serve as associate A.D./business operations and Tweedy as associate A.D./operations and capital projects.

“Selinda and John are valued members of our department and have played big roles in the successes our student-athletes have enjoyed during their time on The Flats,” Stansbury said. “I’m very happy that their hard work and dedication to Georgia Tech athletics is being recognized with these well-deserved promotions.”

Biggers has been a member of Georgia Tech athletics’ staff for 25 years. She began in the Georgia Tech Athletic Association as assistant director of accounting, a role she held for 10 years. After a stint as a GL conversion specialist at Ceridian, Inc., she returned to Tech to manage the athletics business office in 2007. She was promoted to assistant A.D. for business operations in 2018.

An Atlanta native, Biggers attended Tennessee State and Georgia State. At TSU, she served as a student athletic trainer and an athletic administration assistant. She graduated from GSU with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting.

Tweedy joined the GTAA staff as assistant A.D. for facilities, events and operations in 2017. In his role, he has overseen Georgia Tech athletics’ facilities, event management and championship operations, as well as directed a wide variety of capital projects. Capital projects directed by Tweedy include the multi-million dollar refresh of Bobby Dodd Stadium and renovation of women’s basketball’s locker room and team area in 2020, Phase II of upgrades at Mac Nease Baseball Park in 2020-21 and the in-progress renovation of the track and field locker room and team area.

An Augusta, Ga. native, Tweedy served in various facilities, operations and events roles at Minnesota (2015-17), Akron (2014-15), UCF (2012-14) and Georgia State (2010-12) prior to his arrival on The Flats. He holds degrees from Georgia Southern (B.S. – sport management, 2009) and Georgia State (M.S. – sport administration, 2011). He completed an internship with the Atlanta Falcons while pursuing his master’s degree at Georgia State and began his career as a track and field student-athlete at Memphis before completing coursework for his bachelor’s degree Georgia Southern.
