THE FLATS – Batur Ünlü has been named ACC Men’s Swimmer of the Week, as announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference on Tuesday.
Ünlü was a standout for the Jackets this past weekend against two nationally-ranked programs.
At Friday’s meet against No. 8 Texas A&M and SCAD, Ünlü championed three events. He won the 200 free (1:37.30), 100 free (44.82) and 500 free (4:24.45). Ünlü was also a part of the men’s 200 free relay team that placed second with a time of 1:21.65.
Ünlü continued his success on Saturday when Tech faced off with No. 9 Auburn. He recorded a first-place finish in the 200 free (1:37.18) and a second-place time of 44.83 in the 100 free. Ünlü participated in both relay events. He contributed to Tech’s second-place performance in the men’s 400 free relay (2:58.73) and helped the men’s 400 medley relay team to a third-place finish (3:18.09).
Ünlü is the fourth Yellow Jacket to earn ACC Weekly honors this season.
