Baseball Unveils 2022 Schedule

THE FLATS – Highlighted by 32 home games and five Atlantic Coast Conference series at Mac Nease Baseball Park at Russ Chandler Stadium, Georgia Tech baseball announced its 55-game schedule for the 2022 regular season on Wednesday.

The two-time defending ACC Coastal Division Champions return a loaded roster of talent, including the addition of five transfers, for one of its most explosive offenses that D1Baseball has predicted will be one of the nation’s very best. The Yellow Jackets will look to remain red-hot in 2022 and capture their third-straight ACC Coastal Division championship en route to their third-straight NCAA Tournament appearance.

2022 Schedule Highlights:

  • Hosts five Atlantic Coast Conference series, NCAA Regional participants Florida State, Duke and Miami.
  • Four home series against 2020 NCAA Regional teams, beginning with Opening Weekend against Wright State (Feb. 18-20).
  • Plays eight 2020 NCAA Regional participants overall (Wright State, Presbyterian, NC State, Virginia, Florida State, North Carolina, Duke and Miami).
  • Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate: The Yellow Jackets return to playing archrival Georgia in a three-game weekend series with Georgia Tech hosting the Friday night matchup on March 4. The series then transitions to Athens on March 5 before concluding on Sunday for the 19th annual Spring Baseball Classic at Coolray Field, home of the Gwinnett Stripers, to benefit Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
  • Also hosts in-state foes Kennesaw State (March 23), Georgia State (April 12), Mercer (April 19) and Sun Belt runner-up Georgia Southern (May 11).
  • The Return: Georgia Tech will travel to play at Kent State for the first time in the two teams’ history. Hall began his head coaching career at Kent State from 1988-93, earning two MAC Coach of the Year honors, two MAC Championships and two NCAA Regional appearances. The Jackets are 13-5 all-time against the Golden Flashes – 12-4 at home and 1-1 against them in the 2012 Coca-Cola Classic in Rock Hill, S.C.
  • Plays eight teams ranked in the top-50 RPI last season, including two in the top 25.

For the sixth-consecutive year, all Georgia Tech home baseball games at Mac Nease Baseball Park at Russ Chandler Stadium will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra, bringing in a nationwide audience to 32 games during the 2022 regular season.
