THE FLATS – Zach Jaeger was named ACC Men’s Co-Track Performer of the Week, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced on Tuesday.
This is the first time Jaeger has won a performer of the week award during his time at Tech but Jaeger is familiar with ACC honors coming off an All-ACC Second Team performance in the mile during the indoor season.
Over the weekend, Jaeger competed at the Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket Invitational where he bested a field of 64 to win the 1500m with a time of 3:45.98. This time was good for the best in the ACC over the weekend and seventh best in the NCAA.
This 1500m time is a 4.51 second improvement over his previous personal best in the event of 3:50.49 set at the Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket Invite last year.
The White and Gold continue their season with split action this weekend at the Raleigh Relays and Florida State Relays starting on Thursday.
