THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech swimming & diving program will host its White vs. Gold intrasquad meet this weekend at the McAuley Aquatic Center on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 23-24.
“We are excited to see our swimmers compete in a competitive intercollegiate meet setting. We are going to use this meet as a dry run before our first meet to get our team, and especially our freshmen, to see how meets run at this level and to set the tone for the season,” stated head coach Courtney Shealy Hart. “We expect them all to race hard and compete, as everyone is fighting for spots in the lineup.”
The two-day intrasquad will kick-off on Friday, Sept. 23, at 2 p.m. with a total of eight events on the docket. The meet will begin with the 200 yard free relay and the 200 yard IM. The 500 yard free, the 100 yard breast, the 200 back, the 100 yard free and the 200 yard fly will follow before the 400 yard medley relay concludes day one of the intrasquad competition.
Day two of the White vs. Gold meet will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, and will again start off with a relay event in the 200 yard medley relay. Seven straight individual events in the 400 yard IM, 200 yard free, 100 yard fly, 200 yard breast, 100 yard back, 50 yard free and the 1000 yard free will follow with the 400 yard free relay closing out the two-day event.
