Atlanta – The Yellow Jackets (2-3) return to action Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 2:30 when they host cross-town rival Georgia State (7-2) for the 14th consecutive meeting between the teams. The match will be held outdoors at the Bill Moore Tennis Center.
Tech, ranked No. 37 in the nation by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, leads the all-time series with the Panthers 27-1. State’s lone win over the Jackets was on Feb. 23, 2000 when the Panthers came away with a 5-2 win. Tech has given up only four points in the last five meetings with the Panthers including a sweep in 2004.
In the last meeting, on Feb. 15, 2006, Tech won 6-1 on their home court.
The Jackets are coming off back-to-back losses to Southeastern Conference foes No. 1 Georgia on Feb. 13 and No. 40 Auburn on Feb. 17.
Parking for Wednesday’s match is restricted on Fowler Street between 8th and 10th Street as well as in the Alexander Memorial Coliseum lot, on 8th Street and in the O’Keefe Gymnasium parking lot.
Admission to all Georgia Tech home tennis matches is free.
