BETHLEHEM, Pa./FAIRBURN, Ga. – Grace Driskill and Devin Wade led Georgia Tech cross country to impressive finishes on Saturday at the 49th running of the prestigious Lehigh Paul Short Run, while the Yellow Jackets also clocked four top-10 finishes at the Alexander/Asics Invitational.
Tech’s women placed sixth and the men finished 11th at the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pa.
Individually, Driskill crossed the finish line with a time of 20:37.06 in the women’s 6k Gold race, finishing in 13th place. The next Jacket to cross the finish line for the women was Katy Earwood with a time of 21:16.04.
On the men’s side, Wade was the first to cross for the Yellow Jackets with a time of 24:34.05 finishing in the 29th spot. John Higinbotham was the next Yellow Jacket to cross the finish line, recording a time of 24:41.01.
Closer to home, Jean-Lou Pare earned a second-place finish in the men’s 8k at the Alexander/Asics Invite in Fairburn with a time of 25:32.25.
In the women’s 5k run, Tech had three top-ten finishes. Ashley Sechrest ran a third-place time of 18:40.97. Following behind Sechrest, Katie Hamfeldt finished in sixth place with a time of 18:57.11. Rounding out at the No. 10 spot for the Jackets wasIsabella Turner, finishing the race with a time of 19:03.33.
