ATHENS, Ga. – The Georgia Tech women’s tennis team wrapped up the Bulldog Classic on Sunday playing host Georgia in singles play.
The Yellow Jackets concluded the weekend with an overall singles record of 11-7 after freshman Nadia Gizdova picked up a win on Sunday. The freshman defeated Georgia’s Mariana Gould in a three-set thriller. After taking the first set 6-2, Gould evened the match at 1-all with a 6-1 second set decision. Gizdova proved victorious and took the match with a 6-4 third set win.
Georgia grabbed four singles wins over the Yellow Jackets despite Tech battling hard. Three of the four matches were forced to a third set, but the Bulldogs proved victorious.
Up next, Johnnise Renaud and Paige Hourigan will travel out to Pacific Palisades, Calif. to participate in the Riviera/All-American tournament.
