Catherine Gunn, Jaime Wong and Kelly Anderson collected wins in singles and doubles to lead the 28th-ranked Georgia Tech women’s tennis team to a 5-2 victory over NC State an Atlantic Coast Conference match Sunday at the Bill Moore Tennis Center.
With the win, Tech improved to 6-2 overall, 1-0 in the ACC, while the Wolfpack fell to 3-5, 0-2.
Lyndsay Shosho also won in singles for the Yellow Jackets, who swept the three doubles flights.
Gunn defeated Kristin Lam in straight sets at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-4, and teamed with Sekita Grant for an 8-0 victory over Danielle Stadelmann and Carmen Torres at No. 2 doubles.
Wong knocked off Stadelmann at No. 2 singles, 7-5, 6-1, and combined with Anderson for an 8-2 win over Lam and Loni Worsley at No. 2 doubles. Anderson needed three sets to defeat Myrna Bawono at the No. 3 singles flight, 6-1, 4-6, 7-5.
At No. 5 singles, Shosho blanked Torres, 6-0, 6-0. Tech’s No. 3 doubles team of Mysti Morris and Annelies Schenk outlasted Bawono and Jennifer Jassawalla, 8-6.
NC State’s victories were at No. 4 singles, where Worsley defeated Grant in three sets, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3, and No. 6 singles, where Jassawalla downed Kacie Anson, 1-6, 6-4, 2-6.
Tech returns to action March 13, hosting South Carolina at 2 p.m. at the Bill Moore Tennis Center.
