The Georgia Tech women’s tennis team made school history in 2007, winning the school’s first national title, defeating UCLA (4-2) in the championship finals. Georgia Tech also boasts two ITA National Indoor Team championship titles (2007 and 2008) and has won four ACC Championships in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2010. The Yellow Jackets have made 16 consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament, beginning in 2000. During its 40 year history, eight Yellow Jackets have earned All-America Distinction 14 times, highlighted by six-time All-American Kristi Miller. In 2008, Amanda McDowell was the NCAA Individual Singles Champion and Megan Kurey and Kendal Woodard took home the ITA National Indoor Doubles title in 2013. Twenty-one Yellow Jackets have been garnered All-ACC honors 34 times.
Current head coach Rodney Harmon took over the reins in 2012 and has gone 46-30 over the past three seasons in match play. Assistant coach Christy Lynch, formerly Christy Striplin, joined the staff in the fall of 2014. Lynch played for the Yellow Jackets from 2005-09 and aided the Jackets in winning the 2007 national title.
