THE FLATS – Georgia Tech track & field competed at day one of the ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday. The women’s distance medley relay team broke a 22-year-old record with a time of 11:15.33.
The first action for the Yellow Jackets came with the women’s distance medley relay and it proved to be record breaking. The team of Claire Moritz, Lydia Troupe, Riley Perlakowski and Nicole Fegans beat the previous record by 6.15 seconds.
The men’s distance medley relay team took to the track after the women and ran a time of 9:45.22.
Day two of the ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships begins on Friday. Events on the day include the mile, 60m hurdles, 400m, 60m, 800m, 200m, 5000m, high jump, long jump and pole vault.
