Georgia Tech returns to McCamish Pavilion seeking its first ACC win of the season on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets came out strong against No. 16/19 Duke last Sunday, holding the halftime lead, but the Blue Devils overcame Tech in the second half to take the win. Sophomore Kayla Blackshear logged her third-straight game scoring in double-figures, leading Tech with 14 points. She nearly missed her third consecutive double-double with a game-high eight rebounds. Tonie Morgan finished with a strong stat line against Duke, adding 10 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Syracuse comes into the midweek tilt off a loss against No. 7 Notre Dame, snapping a three-game win streak. The Orange are led by three players averaging double-figure scoring numbers. Dyaisha Fair leads the team at 19.6 points per game. Dariauna Lewis leads Syracuse on the glass, securing 9.5 rebounds per game. She nearly misses averaging a double-double behind 9.8 points per game.
The all-time series between Georgia Tech and Syracuse stands tied at 5-5. The Yellow Jackets have won the last four meetings, and five of the last six. Last season, Tech took home a 65-55 victory from the Carrier Dome, led by four players in double-figures. Nerea Hermosa led all scorers with 21 points.
