THE FLATS – Isiah Willis, a former walk-on who went on to play 37 games for Georgia Tech from 2013-2016, represents the Yellow Jackets as a member of the 2017 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society, the NFF announced on Wednesday.
In its 11th year, the NFF Hampshire Honor Society recognizes football student-athletes that have completed their final season of eligibility, were major contributors to their teams on the field and achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or better during their undergraduate studies.
Willis, who arrived at Georgia Tech as a walk-on and earned a scholarship prior to his junior season in 2015, played in 37 games as a Yellow Jacket, including all 25 over his final two seasons (2015 and 2016). He averaged 6.1 yards per rush and 17.1 yards per reception over the course of his career.
Off the field, Willis earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in just three-and-a-half years and is on track to complete coursework for an MBA at Tech this fall. He performed internships with Ernst and Young (2015) and Accenture (2016) and has accepted a full-time role with Accenture beginning in the fall.
