THE FLATS – Georgia Tech defensive end Jordan Walker (Rochester, N.Y./Milford Academy/Rutgers) was recognized for his service to the community on Monday being named a nominee for the 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, the American Football Coaches Association announced on Monday.
The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team recognizes college football student-athletes for their unwavering commitment to community service and good works off the field. From the 175 nominees across all levels of college football, 22 student-athletes (11 from NCAA Division I FBS and 11 from Division I FBS, Division II, Division III and NAIA combined) will be named to the 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team in September. The team is selected by a voting panel of former Good Works Team members, current and former head coaches and journalists.
Walker is one of Georgia Tech football’s most active student-athletes in the community both prior to and since his arrival on The Flats. A three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, Walker transferred to Tech from Rutgers after graduating with a degree in criminal justice. Prior to his arrival in Atlanta, Walker worked with the Special Olympics of New Jersey, the YMCA and the McCourty Twins Blood Drive. Since joining the Yellow Jackets, he has been an active member of the Maximum Impact Love Community Day where he both served and shared testimony. On the field, Walker was a nominee for the 2025 Burlsworth Trophy given to the nation’s best player who began his career as a walk-on. He has played in 29 games over his career with 47 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss and five sacks over his last two seasons.

Georgia Tech posted a 9-4 overall record (tied for the 10th-most victories in Tech’s 133-season football history) and No. 24 final national ranking in 2025. The Jackets rose to as high as No. 7 in the national rankings and were ranked in the final 14 national polls of the season, which was their longest streak since Tech was ranked in all 16 polls in 1999.
Georgia Tech also went 6-2 in Atlantic Coast Conference play in ‘25, which was good for a tie for second place in the 17-team conference. The Yellow Jackets are the only ACC team that has finished in the top four of the conference standings each of the last three seasons.
